FG-NET AGING DATABASE

The FG-NET Aging Database is an image database containing face images showing a number of subjects at different ages. The database has been developed in an attempt to assist researchers who investigate the effects of aging on facial appearance.

The database has been generated as part of the European Union project FG-NET (Face and Gesture Recognition Research Network). The following document describes the contents of the database and provides information related to the use and distribution of the database.

Part A of the database can be made available to researchers upon request. Researchers wishing to obtain the database should complete the registration form

Researchers who receive Part A of the aging database will automatically become members of the FG-NET project. Details concerning FG-NET membership can be found here.

Researchers receiving Part A of the database will be expected to contribute to Part B of the database at least 50 suitable images.

Image submission by different researchers will ensure that the database will be expanded in order to make it an invaluable tool to all researchers studying facial aging. At the same time contribution by different researchers will enforce the cultural diversity among the database subjects.

Once 1000 images are submitted to Part B the database will be completed and all 2000 images (1002 in Part A and 1000 in Part B) will be made publicly available.
