FG-NET AGING DATABASE

The FG-NET Aging Database is an image database containing face images showing a number of subjects at different ages. The database has been developed in an attempt to assist researchers who investigate the effects of aging on facial appearance.

The database has been generated as part of the European Union project FG-NET (Face and Gesture Recognition Research Network). The following document describes the contents of the database and provides information related to the use and distribution of the database.

For each image in Part A of the database the corresponding data file (_ _ _ a _ _.dat) is available. Data files contain information related to the corresponding image. Information includes the image type (color or grey), a subjective quality factor (1-5), the image dimensions, two fields to indicate whether the corresponding .pts file is available and whether the image is approved and the age and gender of the subject in the image. Data files also include information related to any occlusions present in the image (beards, spectacles, hats, moustaches) and information related to the horizontal and vertical pose of the subject (left/straight/right, down/straight/up).
